Cane Creek 4-23

My Pops and I went to Cane Creek yesterday for the first time this year to catch dinner and to try out my new Lowrance X-3 Deluxe Down Imaging fishfinder, an upgrade from the Hummingbird Atari finder. Trolled the usual route but it produced nothing. Then took a gamble and went up the lake so far up the motor kicked up mud. My Pops had a theory that the crappie would be up shallow spawning. Well, the carp were doing that instead of a crappie. Fished a few lay downs, reeds, stick ups etc. After a snagged carp incident and couple over eager bream, we tried a little deeper. Finally found some in 6-9ft of water near the tributary of the feeder creek. Not a whole lot of keepers with the exception of Pop's 14 incher. Did find a piece of structure on the bottom that resembled a sunken McDonalds play slide on my fishfinder that surprisingly coughed a few fish for me that helped me out do Pops. Finished by 1:30
