Shelbyville Lately & a few sippi pics
Below is a few pictures from our quick sippi get a way the other week and my take on the ville recently.
In my opinion, the ville is on fire right now and limits are coming very quick. I'm targeting submerged stumps and lay downs, and staying away from brush for the most part and looking in 3-12 ft of water. I am using minnows when clients are in the boat and the action is quick and keeps them pretty busy. When I am by myself or its me and dad, we have been using jigs and catching good fish too, but not as many as you would from one spot with minnows. You will feel a lot of quick taps using a jig, and thats the males trying to move it off their beds, and this is when minnows would get the job done. Water temps are running 59-64 depending on where i have been at...I look for this colder week to move the females out, but I expect the males to stay pretty put where they have been. Here is a 4 man and a 3 man limit from friday and saturday. Sunday dad and I went out in the afternoon and caught a good mess, but all were released back. Some males are really colored up good, but majority of females are still a good couple weeks out.
