Bicycle Flags & boat trailer tongues

Ok on our boat trailer, the tongue of it, breaks away to make it shorter. Well its still hard for me to see the end of the break away when pulling into it to park my pickup or the wife's Explorer. So what I did was purchase a Bicycle Flag from Wal-Mart and stick it into the hole of the boat trailer tongue. Well that worked great until we hooked up to the boat and I put the Bicycle Flag into the garage. Somehow it was leaning out the garage door as someone was putting down the garage door. Ouch broke it!

So I am trying it again. Plus this time I got a couple of extra ones this time. I stuck one on each side of the end of the boat in the ground so I could see it in the mirrors as I back the boat in. I am hoping that I can see them and I will stop backing up at the correct spot.

I am going to go take a picture of them and post it here. The problem is if I back the boat up to far the motor is going to hit the railings on the front porch. I have the boat at Springfield Marine Repair right now getting the trolling motor batteries replaced! So I should know in a little while if this is going to work or not.

Ok so the house looks stupid with 2 bicycle flags in front of it!! The reason for the ramps is sometimes with heavy rain the gravel gets flooded. And I didn't want the boat tires to set in water.

I sure hope this works!

When backing into the storage shed I used marker paint to paint white lines where my rear truck tires should stop for the boat to be in the right place.

Not as bad as what trucking companies do. Ever pass a big truck and see white lines painted on trailer tires? That so some driver can tell if his tires are rolling or if he or she is dragging them flat.
