Fished Clinton today after the rains and fished the banks with no luck. Moved out to 12-14 ft of water and caught a limit of males pretty quick. White and silver jigs were the ticket.

Way to find them, Gary!! Did you find them on the graph or did you just try deeper? There was, at Perry, a type of bank that held the fish we caught. Spent several hours trying, and looking, but was catching here and there. As soon as we put it together,,,our bites came very quick. Again,,,way to go. Next week will be very interesting with rising water levels and cooler temps. May be a 'stampede' to the shallows. <*)}}}><
I found them on a small pile of rocks about the size of a small boat right on the channel drop and yes I found them on my graph first and then zeroed in on them with my new xi5 anchor lock. Just stayed on top of them and moved slightly as they were right on the bottom. I went out looking for wipers as they started to bite last weekend but the wind was not right where I wanted to fish so I tried for crappie instead. Water color was a little off due to the rain. That bobby garland silver white did the trick, tried black and chartreuse not even a bite.

Are you just waypointing then locking on it or do you bouy it? I have been staying on a waypoint using the 'point 1' antenna:ThumbsUp rather than dropping a bouy. These spots that are on the bank,,,, I'm looking for something on:fish the bank. Then looking at topo maps to see why they are there. I'm looking for new, not known hotspots. I'm enjoying fishing:biggrin again.<*)}}}>< PS,,,, I still don't like the spawn:puke
Chatt,
No bouys or waypoints. When I run over something I want to fish I just hit the anchor lock on the trolling motor and it holds me right on the spot and then fine tune it from there. On the xi5 you can go forward, backwards and side to side by 5 feet when you hit the appropriate button. I do not have the trolling motor hooked up to my HDS unit yet as they have not shipped me the cord yet. So far I love it, cannot wait for the wiper bite as I should be able to really stay on them now.
