So my old pot went down........order a new one and arrived late last week. Fired up this weekend and adjustment screw all the way clockwise I cannot pour (of course) as I back off I get a drip. That drip can be dangerous. My old pot did not leak until the end. I already tried the paperclip up the spot. I do not like any dripping but what does other say?
Did u flux your lead. Could be dirt around plunger. U may have to lap it in a little with rubbing compound. Mine seats and doesn't leak. Another tip would be to put a 4 oz sinker on the handle to give it more pressure to close. I have done that before when mine gets out of whack and can't lap it at the time

First thing is get flate blade screw driver, use it to turn the stem back and forth. As you do this add tiny bit of pressure to lift handle. This will get the stem or plunger end to mate better in the spout. I don't know what JW did to his but you can actually get a small tin of valve lapping compound and after every thing is good and clean add a little of the compound to end of stem and do same process. It will cut the metal better and give you a more precise seat. Also I have found taking the screw driver and turn the stem back and forth until it centers the slot in the lifting wire helps.
