Has anyone else been catching any of these fish in Indiana ? I have a pond in Owen county that is full of them. The have a black stipe from dorsal fin to tip of their nose.

that's a racing stripe because they're so fast. steal your minnow and gone before the bobber moves LOL
I've caught quite a few, but not in the southern part of the state.
Those supposedly orginated in the White River drainage in Arkansas but stocked widely to identify stocking .
caught a few over the years, up north here. its a genetic thing, occurring naturally, from what i have researched. a few pics of them in my photobucket.
I've caught a few in Missississinewa over the years.
Thanks' for the reply's guys. Seems strange that they are here in this pond. a couple year ago all caught was nice large crappie. Now I have a bunch of these around 9-10 inches
you can probably thank any wild ducks that might have visited your pond.
