Oven "fried" crappie
These turned out pretty darn tasty. I mixed up some bread crumbs, almond meal (just ground up almonds), S & P, ground mustard and some cajun seasoning. Dipped the crappie in an egg, lemon juice and tabasco sauce wash and then breaded and baked at 400 degrees.

The fish looks mighty tasty, why'd ya go and ruin it with the nasty green beans and cooked broccoli ?:scratchhead.I just happen to have some fillets,I will give them a try.......with a side of peas or corn.:biggrin

That looks and sounds like a winner. We've been baking our crappie the last couple of years after finding a similar recipe on this site. I think we'll try this one next time. Thanks for sharing.

We season- bake at 400* for 10 min. Perfect every time.

Hey Vonna, they look real good and Sandy had me print it off. How long in the oven?

About 10 minutes on each side. I put mine a cooling rack on a cookie sheet hoping to keep them crisp, but you still need to flip them about halfway through cooking to get crispy on both sides.
