Okay totally two different type rod holders what are some pros and cons on each. I have some that are similar to the driftmasters but not driftmasters. I'm thinking about swapping to the Hi-Tek. Thanks for your input.

If those are your only considerations, Hi-Tec hands down. Very easy to get rods out of hold rods well except when longling or pulling cranks out the back of boat. I have Drift masters on a pulling rack and hate them. Have Hi-Tec on front and SpiderLocks on rear sides. If I could have just one set for everything it would be the SpiderLocks.
I have Tite Lok rod holders. Nice but expensive. very versatile and easy to install. Stand tall so easy reach from chair.

Call me crazy but I am partial to the drift masters. They are more difficult to set up but once you get them right they are set for life. I also like the left handed threads. Not sure if the other brands offer that option as I have never researched them. What I like the most is that they are heavy duty. I own about 3 dozen of their holders between the 2 boats.
Cray I'm open to anything. That's what I have now are ones similar to the Driftmasters. A friend of mine made these years ago out of stainless steel. I thought the Hi-Tek would be easier getting out of holder and I thought like you putting the Hi-Tek up front. I would leave the other rod holders in the back. I'm going to check out the Spiderlocks.
Crappiekidd doesn't Cumberland have some rod holders similar to those?
Thanks for y'alls help.
I've got 2 hi tek t bars that I use for long lining and spider rigging and I love them. About to order more to put at the back of my boat. Very easy to adjust to your liking.
Here is a pic of them in action. Lol

I have seen and used many, the Spyderlok are the most versatile due to the many adjustments that can be made to suit your personal preferences. Every component of a Spyderlok is adjustable. Side to side and tilt of the rod holder, the entire rack can be adjusted up and down, and circular. They're extremely easy to put on or take off after the base plate has been secured. Made of aluminum so they will never rust.

I use Hi-Tek front and back. I don't have any problems longlining with them. I think some tend to angle their rod tips down to much and it is the reason rods come out when longlining using the Hi-Tec holders. Everyone will have the holders they like best and reviews help.
Try getting custom holders from the Crappie Hole in Chapin, SC. Been using them for years with no problems.
Drift masters give if you get hung and it prevents breaking rod and the new style folds down completely for travel
