An Idea/Question - Rigging

As a few of you may have read, I recently got setup for rigging. My boat is pretty narrow in the front and doesnt really allow room for more than 1 holder, let alone person to rig. Below is a picture of a pole holder rack the previous own had made for the boat. My question is, would it make much of a difference pulling rather than pushing while rigging? If I bent the holders down to hold rods off the back of the boat. This would allow for more poles, and a passenger I have with me to rig as well. The previous owner set this up for catfishing, but I doubt I ever will use it for that. Just trying to save some money on more pole holders if this will work ok.

This rack attaches pretty quickly with 4 bolts, setup for light bars for night fishing.

Either way you are presenting the bait vertically, at a very slow speed.
But being in front with the trolling motor gives better controll.
Just my opinion
I've done both at times and worked great either way.

I'm open water you would be fine. Would make for a great crank bait pulling setup!!!

haha thats kind of what I was thinking also when I first got it, may leave it alone and try that out first. I've never pulled crank baits... more stuff to buy :Rofl

I've often thought of putting a couple of racks on back but we enjoy riggin in the stumps and trees.
Like Jigging 15 said, would be fine in open water.
We've pulled crank baits in front of the dam with success.
Just depends on what way you want to fish. Good luck

Got mine rigged up similar to that. Mine is a stick steer so no room for but one up front. I have holders off the side at rear also. Most of the time just as many fish caught from rear as front.

I think it will work just fine, I've been catching a lot of them rigging out of the front at Pomme in swallow water fishing as deep or even deeper then the water so like 8-10 feet down in 8 feet of water, but when I do this I'm going faster and pulling the baits right along the bottom. It works!!! When I'm in deeper water or the fish or up off the bottom I try to go slow and keep the line vertical.
