I have had the same problem with Carlisle tires on my party barge. One of them had the entire tread come off of it. It was less than 1 year old. Bought them from Walmart and they replaced them under the Road Hazard I bought. A friend in the tire business said they may have been old " new" tires and to beware of the date code on the tires.
All ST tires are junk, most are made in China, some folks call them "China Bombs " They are just for trailers, so there is not the reliability as there is on personnel car or truck tires. I had one this winter to blow out sitting in the garage, still had three quarter or better rubber on the tire. I am buying car tires for my trailer now, I think they will hold together better. One thing here, don't mix radial tires and bias tires, on the same trailer, Either put all bias tire on, or all radial tires. That sucks to have a tire separate out on the road.

Fish, what pressure you running in your tires?
Fosh, you better take a look at your bearings/seals. That looks like grease on that rim and normally when the rim looks like that, you have seal problems or worse. If you have hub or bearing problems, it could possibly affect your tires.
Nothing but radials for me any more. Bias ply tires just came apart within months. I think it has to do with the speed I pull on the interstate.
I had a similar problem with walmart tires. Went to trailer place and went up one load range on my third year with them....but been parked lately.... :(
