3-27-15 Belfonte report

Fished Belefonte today between 1 and 3PM. Caught and released 22 crappie. Most were of legal size. Fan casted from the bank with most fish being caught about 30 feet off the bank. Used a jig set 3' under a float, they wanted it reeled in very slow. I used Bobby Garland Baby shad. Blue grass and Baby craw were the colors they hit best. Jigs were tipped with a chartreuse glow crappie nibble. Water was clear and the water was being pulled from the lake swiftly. It was a nice day to be on the water.

Float and fly has been pretty good for me in the spring.

Fished down your way Jack Thursday kept 15 and threw back a lot of short ones. The Bass fisherman were everywhere and they tried to chase me off, I just aimed it the guy running the trolling motor with deadly aim with my orange cork.I did catch a 4 lb bass or better held it up and threw it in the bucket.Got some good looks from the boaters.

I didn't find any fish on the few blow downs in the area. Alabamaal - poor green carp fishermen needed that fish. You know they were trying to win money :biggrin.
