Grandson Ian and I went to the little lake outside of town. He definitely knows the difference between targeted and non-targeted species. He has his first crappie of 2015. He's loving it.......

Awesome. He almost has a Wyatt smile. Love to see the kids getting out. Lots of great memories growing up with my grandfather fishing little ponds and a few larger irrigation lakes. Bass was the target for me back then because they were bigger and fought harder. Use to catch some good crappie throwing 3" beatle spins. We just threw them back and kept casting for a big bass. Fun times. Ready for a little warmer weather to get my two youngest out on the lake. I get to take a kid tomorrow on my trip. Should be fun for him with the bite as good as it is.
Can't beat that smile, congrats to you two.
sounds like a fun day, Paul! Do your grandkids a favor and take them as much as possible. I grew up fishing with both my grandpa's and lived for every minute. I'd give up a lot to get to fish with them one more time....
Priceless !!!
That smile says it all!
