You know that your asking guys to do something that can end them up loosing everything right? It's not legal to sell pony head jigs at all in any size? Blakemore owns the Trademark on that design head and are the only ones that can sell them legally? read some of the stick post at the top of this page to see where that all was discussed!

Good info and I'm glad you posted that, Skip. I haven gotten around to ponyheads, but I'm sure I would have eventually wanted to try them. I'll read that sticky.
Wow...just read the sticky. Sorry guys, I would never want anyone to risk anything over a jig lol. I wish blakemore would make more options.
Thanks!

I just finished reading the whole thread. It was full of good information. I won't be making them at all, not even for my own use. I wonder how many other designs are a No-No?
I have spoke with them more than one time and ask the President of Blakemore if they couldn't put at least a #4 in that 1/32 head and he checked for me, but came back and said they couldn't do that. Their molds cost a ton so am sure it probably has something to do with that. I remember once years back I was told they cost $5,000.00 for each mold.
However I have caught a lot of really big crappie on that little #6 hook! Some times I believe I get more bites on the little Roadrunner than I can using a Pony head which I do also have some of them that I use, but I don't look at the hook when I get one out to tie on because I think their little hook can catch as many as a #4 Sickle. Just my opinion, but some of my very largest crappie have come on jigs that didn't have a Sickle in them.
