I just bought the helix 5 and have a few questions. First I have a smaller he piranahmax unit and was wondering if I kept it on the boat how close can I mount the transducers and will they interfere with each other? I have a small 1756 xpress and would like to keep the transducers in one area. I am also trying to figure out if the helix 5 si gps will accept a lakemaster chip? I know it will with the navionics gold but not sure about the other.
What PMAX model do you have? the helix will accept a microsd lakemaster chip - meaning you need the latest 2015 chip or download single charts from chart select.
It's the 196ci piranahmax
that runs at 200/455...you will probably get interference overlapping that with the 200/83khz of the Helix's 2d. You can run the PMAX in 455khz only mode to minimize any 2d interference but that might impact the 455 si on the Helix. You'd be better off separating them (put one up font) and use the noise filters
