Friday 13th ?
Thought it was a bad luck day ? Well for a box full of crappie it was. Met the usual gang at Ebenezer bout 7:30. My crew took out for parts unknown. After a little head scracthin and thinkin of a couple of recent post we found em. They was in the river channel and had mud in their eyes they was so close to the bottom. Any where from 40 out to 52 fow. But on bottom. Water was slight stain and 50 to 52 degree. Tightline minnows. Wind was a bit of trouble. O.K. It was a royal pain. If we could stay in the channel we caught em. But the wind made it tough to stay. Little rain and little chilly but ya gotta go when ya can. We had 36 keepers on my boat and bout 20 skidders. Very few perch. Not sure how the other guys did but they will add somethng I am sure. Ray wish you could have stayed with us. Next time you can get em. Overall a decent yet windy Friday 13th. Hey brettw , Left ya a line on the water to follow. See the attached photo and follow the pink line.

I was on the SS Remus 1 with Remus and Big Dawgg After a lot of chit chat at the ramp we moved over to the 50 ft water and dropped some lines down to the bottom. Remus and I started throwing fish in the live well, after a bit I noticed a tear or two in Big Dawgg's eyes. I felt sorry for him cuz all he was doing was holding the live well top open for us to throw fish in. I jumped up and reached out and called on my magical powers and said "Catch some fish now" touched my hands on his fishing rod.
Ten seconds later he had a fish on the line and stayed busy the rest of the day.
The Dawgg will fill you in on the catch and other details when he denies the story I just told.
A great day on the water with some great friends, those that didn't go missed a great day on the water

I was going to show up, but I fished yesterday and thought it was going to be a wash out today. I should have went! They have been deep all week, 45 to 50 feet on the bottom. But yesterday i caught some in 35 feet on the bottom. The wind was tuff yesterday too, hard to stay over them in that kind of wind! Glad ya found them.
I also found some under the docks yesterday in 25 to 30 feet, not a lot but they were there.

Well I tell you I was saved today. Scoop placed his hands on my fishing rod and asked that I be healed and man I felt a shock all down my spine and I never looked back again. I was immediately catching crappie one after another until Remus touched my other rod. Then it was just fishing and getting the net, hold this and watch that yellow rod back there. You'll can guess what a day I had in the middle of the boat. I'm not sure but I think Remus said we had 35 crappie and 27 perch with some throw backs. Maybe a 100 fish between both boats. Just guessing. It was a good day for sure with good people to boot. Wind was a bit rough, I'm wind burnt fairly good. We will have to do it again on a better day. :cheers2 Let's do it tomorrow.:popcorn

I was sitting in my easy chair and looking at the wind howling on Murray and wondering if any of you fishermen stuck it out. Glad to see you did and was rewarded with a nice mess of fish. Thanks for sharing

I can really pickum, can't I? Marion and I had struggled for two days and with the rain threating we decided to break camp and head back home. Might have figured we'd miss the hot bite. That, Gentlemen, is why I don't play poker or any other game of chance. :banghead
