Will an XNT 9 20 T transducer be compatible with a Helix 5 SI-GPS monitor? The reason is because I would like to be able to move the unit to the bow when fishing so I dont have to crane my neck to see waypoints. From there I was hoping I could use my existing transducer which is on the trolling motor for 2d purposes and still have my waypoints in easing viewing sight. Anybody got any better ideas to complete this task? Thanks in advance for the help!

When the HB SI unit is connected to the XNT 9 20 T only ... The Transducer Select menu under the Sonar tab should be set to Dual Beam to keep the SI transmitters from firing ...

Do you have the XNT 9 20 T (XNT refers to transom mount) ... Attached to your TM with some type of adapter bracket ...??

Thanks for the reply matzilla. And rnvinc, yes it is a transom mount transducer, but with a little southern engineering, a file, and a hose clamp, it became adapted to the tm! That was about three years ago, no problems since except a few scuffs. Thanks for the help!
Helix doesn't have a transducer select menu (confusing that its different than other core models)... If it was a DI model you would go to the sonar menu and the digital depth source, select 2d element. The default setting is auto as a fail safe. I don't see this option in the SI user manual. You might want to check with HB customer service to see how to handle that
I use a standard 455/200khz skimmer with my DI Helix while ice fishing w/o any problems but it looks like the SI might be a different ball of wax
I'm still having a hard time understanding how any of this really matters - a crystal driver firing to open pins (455/800khz si pins don't exist on the 83/200 skimmer) would cause damage to the driver...the circuit is never completed.
I have not heard one way or the other for the DualBeam transducer used with a HELIX 5 SI-GPS unit. The HELIX 5 SI-GPS units were not designed to be used without the Si transducer (and all transmit circuits loaded), so I would call the Humminbird Customer Service folks about this and see what they have been told. 1-800-633-1468
