Rainy day here and been looking. 17'8 can run a 75 hp motor. A 18'8 is rated for a 115. How does 1 ft of boat allow for 40 more hp's?

Extra foot of length= more foam injected level floatation to support 40 more horses. The extra foot also has less draft in the water which will support the extra weight of the engine. Sorry it took so long, I had to make a phone call. Lol
