For years it has been said that fish don't bite well on raising or higher than 30.0 barometric pressure. Is this an old wish tell or a fact?
It seams that when the pressure is dropping just before or during a rain storm the bite is usually better.
Does the higher pressure put stress on the fish causing a full stomach sensation or excess pressure on their bodies?
Great question, I remember spending lot of time talking with Bill Scheffler out of Colwich who lived by the pressure and moon phase… I still follow his cattle rule. If the cows are all laying down chewing their cud the fish are not biting for a couple of hours….
Thats funny, we have a lot of "city" deer around our house and it's not unusual to see twenty at a time. I've noticed the more deer are out feeding, the more fish will be biting.:donoQuote:

My gpa use to watch the barometric pressure. There were days that we were ready to fish at 6am but didn't leave till 5pm because of the BP. I'm sure he told me what to look for and I'm pretty sure I was young enough not to care at all.
looks like to me dern cows are always eatin....every time i pass em on road they are eatin.
