Can't give you any advice on Barren, but we've got some Barren boys around that will likely pop in with some opinions & advice ... eventually. Just keep coming back & checking. Things are a little slow right now, but they'll heat up around here, soon.

Thanks and I will keep my eyes open. Been watching youtube a lot.
Me, my in-laws and several friends all fish Barren. A bunch of amateurs but we have a good time. I will be living near the Beaver Creek Boat Ramp soon. Welcome to the area!
Thanks, maybe we could met up sometime. Been driving around and talking to some folks. I have been to the Beaver Creek ramp a few times on live just off 31E between Skaggs Creek and Peter Creek
I drive by ur house on the way to work every day then. I live in Glasgow, work in Scottsville. If we can get settled in the new house quick enuf for me to get any fishing in this spring we'll have to hit 'em.
Shouldn't be too far off when guys start catching them up in the creeks. I have never had any luck doing it but seen limits posted that were caught from way on up them.
Put on some sturdy boots and start walking the lake bed. Triangulate brush now and write it down in a notebook, or better yet use gps if you have it.
I fish out of the state park most of the time on stuff that I have put in.
Well cardmman I fish Barren a good bit. Best advise I can give you now? Pray for the snow to stop :pray . Are you bank fishing or in a boat? If bank fishing, I'd go below the spillway. If the Corp is releasing the water more than four tenths go to campsite #10 and watch the ole boys as they fish. A good group an they'll give ya anything except their catch. Less than four tenths, go to the end of the drive and walk down stream till you see the island and fish that area with jigs or minnows, about three feet down. Corp phone number 270-646-2122 they'll give a daily report on how much water is being released and water temp once it warms up. By the WELCOME :welcome We all started right where you are so don't forget to pass it on.
Thanks a bunch I do have a boat but I will use this info. I am excited to be using this site. Maybe one day I can help others.
