Dale Hollow in June
I am going to fish Dale Hollow in June and looking to catch some of the bluegill and crappie I have read about. Will be fishing out of Horse Creek and would like an idea of what to expect. Where should I look for them at this time of year? Will they be in shallow water, two to four feet, or do I need to be fishing in ten to twelve foot water? I fish jigs most of the time,is there a color I
need to have? Do I look for trees and lay downs? Not looking for any secret spots, just an idea of what to look forward to doing. Know we will have a great time! Take all in advance for any advice.

There is a very short window at Dale Hollow to easily find bluegill and shell crackers. Most folks shoot for end of May. But that first spawn doesn't always happen then. Dale Hollow can be a tough nut to crack...especially in the summer. Look for the Gills out on the flats or in the pockets of coves. If you find them it will be a trip you will remember.

Crappie will be anywhere from 12 to 20 feet deep by then depending on boat traffic and water temps. The shellcrackers should still be good in the early part of June but gets tougher the later in the month it gets.
