It is -5 and the wind is blowing. Too cold for me. Perhaps not in my younger days. True story It was so cold we had to keep the beer warm from freezing. Yes I made it through those years and lived to tell about it.

addictedangler, Have you ever use the tip downs ? If not they do work good for crappies
I have used tip ups but prefer to jig a cast master with a little mealy or corn borer.
As cold as you can stand it.I iced fished recently at -5 ,wind chill at - 20.I bucket sit in the open, just put my back to the wind and enjoy
X2 it's up to how much you can stand. Fish don't care. Like fishing in the rain they don't care already wet I've been out with -40 wind chills in hut with a lantern and a little focus 5 heater. We were warm and toasty until we had to get out to get back to the truck. We caught plenty of nice gills that day
I put a lot of time on the stream, and on a lake. I call it paying dues. It is good to here there are others that understand how I feel. Everyone wans to fish sunny 75 deg. weather. I work as a fishing guide and do not get a lot of that. - 5 sitting on a bucket, I sure hope they were biting.
