I don't know if social media will be the demise of a reservoir or not, but it sure will make one get crowded in a hurry!!!
Social media is faster than word of mouth
Social media is like a pandemic for fishing holes. It spreads the news too fast. Keeps most guys from pre fishing. They just lurk and go to the hot lakes.
I sure don't share info on here like I used to. Too many lurking and not ever returning the favor from my experience lol. To each his own I guess.
I believe social media played a huge part in stopping the barricades below the dams. Doug Markum posted on several forums and the momentum exploded. Don't know if it would have been stopped without social media.
Come warmer weather!

I guess I got to much old school in me. For me it's not about the catching, it's all about figuring it out. Don't get me wrong, I like to catch a mess of fish, but I don't measure my success by the number of fish I catch. I still like going to a lake and really figuring it out from scratch. I like the old nose to the grind trial and error type fishing!
I don't mind telling a person which lake I caught fish on, but I'm not telling every trick. That's the fun of it, fishing!
The best crappie fishermen I know can't or won't turn a computer on and keep their spots close to the vest. I like to release fish once the freezer gets full?
I have seen old timers on Reelfoot lake pull up in a jon boat or lake boat and wear them out. No electronics, spider rigs or spot lock they just fish with one pole and wear them out. Time on the water is the best tool!!!
Yup. If ya want to know where Minner fishes, talk to him face to face. He'll give it up if ya ask.
