Caught a couple today
Went to a friends private pond this afternoon for three hours from shore . Beautiful weather , Little breezy , water was pretty clear . Couldn't buy a strike for over two hours . Threw almost everything at them , Rapalas , small cranks , soft plastic jigs , then I rigged up my 7 foot UL Daiwa Laguna Rod , with a Daiwa Crossfire 1000 reel , spooled with 4# Ande tournament green , rigged with a olive micro jig and weighted float . With this rig I could make casts over 100 feet and could cover a good bit of the upper end of the pond we were restricted to . Wound up catching five gills with two of them decent size . Bank fishing in the winter is feast or famine . But the micro jigs kept the skunk off . Gillchaser
