Cypress Lake 2-7-2015
I got my new spyderloc rod holders mounted and have been wanting to try them out, so the boys and I loaded up and went to Cypress today even with the wind blowing making whitecaps on the lake. Wind blew so hard we could find fish in the deep water but could not stay over them. After a couple of unsucessful attemps trying to hover over them in the wind and two severe tangles I pulled up headlong into the wind and set the anchor. I let out anchor rope till we was over the the area I marked the fish. We ended up with 10 nice keeper crappie caught on a combination of shinners and JR's black and chartruese tube jig right on the bottom. I think 10 was pretty good for the conditions, lots of boats out most of them stayed in the coves trying to get out of the wind and off the open water, didnt see or hear of anyone catching many more than us.
And the spyderlocs worked great, I highly recommend them to anyone looking for rod holders.
Had a great time with the boys it was worth the tangles and fighting the wind.

I went today and fished from 12:30-4:00. First time on the lake and caught 23 on a black/chartreuse jig but all were small. Caught most of them between 12:30-2:30.
