I THINK THE WHEELER WILDLIFE REFUGE GATES WILL OPEN ON FEB 11TH. THAT WILL OPEN UP A WHOLE SLEW OF FISHING HOLES. TOWARD THE END OF THE MONTH THEY WILL ALSO OPEN ALL OF THE DIKES THAT ARE HOLDING THE WATER IN FOR THE DUCK HUNTERS. RESEARCH "GRAVEL PITS" IN MOORSVILLE, "WEST DIKE" IN THE SWAN CREEK AREA, AND "BLACKWELL RUN" IS OFF OF COUNTY LINE ROAD.
I ALSO DO WELL AT THE MARINE POLICE BUILDING AT INGAL'S HARBOR IN DECATUR. A LITTLE MORE ACCESABLE IF YOU HAVE A KID.
GOOD LUCK!
On lake Guntersville I would recommend the causeway at Goose Pond or the Causeway at Belefonte. I haven't been to either lately but have dome well in the past. Both places you have to get there early or late to get a decent spot.
On the lower end of Guntersville you can fish the bridges on Hwy 227 near the feed mills and also the bridge going over Beech creek and Browns creek bridges I have loaded the five gallon buckets at these spots.
