Does anyone have a photo of external transducer install on the Xi5? If so could you please post some pics? I know the Terrova has a place in the shaft to run the cable does the Xi5 have somthing like that. I know that both come with what I call universal sonar bilt in but I do not want to loose my DI on the front. If anyone has this motor please share how you installed your transducer. Looking into the 55 thrust 45inch shaft with pinpoint. Thanks in advance.
Lots of the guys here are buying or fabricating a transducer mount for the front of the boat that stays away from the TM
I put my wire inside of a coil air hose.
I slit the hose put the cable inside and put black tape on it every so far.
I have some brackets in mind to make. I own a machine shop and can't ever get any time to make the stuff I need.
It's in line with my spider rig set up my long pole transport idea and a couple others
As I get these things made I will post them
From what I have read I will love this motor. But I do not want to give up my DI!!!!!!!. So I need to find a way to get this transducer cable up the shaft of this motor. Do not want to go with a terrova even tho I have all HB fish finders because the Xi5 spot lock is way better than the terrova and I fish brush 90% of the time and need to stay on my spot. I have Lowrance units and I do have the DI transducer mounted to the TM

Go to this thread and also YouTube. Look for posts on mounting transducer to PDv2 motors. They have the same limitations as your Xi5.
Here is how I would do it if it was me. Mount transducer and tie off cable at motor. Mount some kind of ring eye/clamp that is split and can slide cable back and forth in. Mount it to motor head. Then put a wire tie with mounting eye made into it on the cable above the ring eye. Then hook a small bungie to that once deployed to keep slack out of cable running down
shaft.
