Larto in my sights
It's almost time for my yearly pilgrimage to Larto. I haven't seen any reports from up there but that isn't unusual. I guess I'll have to dust off my trolling set up and just see for myself. I have been to Lake Martin a couple times lately for bass but it's still early, fishing is really slow. Over the winter I decided to build a couple fly rods, using 9 foot American blanks, 5 and 6 weight, they came out real nice. I look forward to the spring when the fish are more shallow and I can give these poles a proper work out. Anyway, if you heard anything about the fishing at Larto, a heads up would be nice. I"ll post again when I get back…good fishing…BC

Haven't heard any reports, but the last rains has Larto at 38.39 and full pool stage is 38.50 so at least we finally got some water there again! Looking forward to your reports and the best of luck to you. ~~<*{{{{<<

2 friends of mine went a weekend ago. Saturday they only caught 6, but Sunday they caught about 20 down some canal near shad lake. slow trolling jigs. Not nearly what it normally is this time of year. Last year wasn't good either.

Headed up Friday. I talked to buddy of mine today told me it was starting to get right. They had been catching a few.

Took my Dad (87 years young) for a ride to Larto on Tuesday and stopped in at Uncle Bud's for a fishing report. The word is things are getting better. One of their guests caught 30 WP on Monday and put out yo yo's and jug lines and picked up 50 catfish. Went by the end of the lake before Youngblood's road and water is pouring through that structure,so looks like they have all the water they need in the lake...... ~~<*{{{{<<
