I got a Minn kota 315d for christmas. I am mounting it about 15 ft or so from my batteries. Not sure what ga to make my leads. I've tried doing online research. It says 14ga will work for 5 amp. For that length, is that true? Thanks

That will work but Minn Kota has extensions for those battery chargers and I recommend using them. Don't just add wire to the existing wire. You'll lose the temperature measurement of the batteries. (also voids the warranty)Quote:
