I couldn't stand the nice weather so I decided to give it a try. What a nice day to be on the water. I went to the Bell City Drainage Canal. Water was chocolate milk. I went farther down to the Humble Canal. The water was better but not its normal clarity. I fished every color jig I had and even shiners. I fished every brush pile I had down there at all depths. I caught 2 bass. One on a shiner and one on a black and chartreuse road runner. At one place I normally catch fish had turnips growing on the bank. I bet that patch was about a 1/2 acre. So I filled the live-well with turnips. I found a yellowish skinned turnip. I have never seen one like it before. It weighed 2 pounds. I also had a normal colored one that weighed 2 pounds. And one that looked like a parsnip. Now does anyone have any good recipes for turnips and any idea what the large yellow variety is called.Attachment 186960Attachment 186961Attachment 186962Attachment 186963Attachment 186964
