If anyone is interested, there is an ad on Memphis'
Craig's List under Sporting Goods that has 78 lbs of lead for sale for $100.00. Don't know anything about it. I just saw the ad any thought someone might be interested.

Don't know if a dollar 28 per pound is good or not either. I bet the jig makers will know.
Was it clean or wheel weight kinda stuff?
78 pounds for a 100 bucks is more like $1.28 a pound, in theory 64 1/4 oz jigs at just over 2 cents each for the lead, prolly a good deal if its clean. Bought wheel eights a lot cheaper than that so I bet its clean, I was using the weight for ballast so didnt care about it being clean.
Just figured it out. It comes to just a fraction over 8 cents an ounce. I'd give that for weights all day. [emoji4]

I can get a bucket of wheel weights for $40. The bucket will weigh between 100 and 120 pounds. Then remove the trash, scrap metals and zinc wheel weights. Separate the lead stick ons too. End up with about 2/3 bucket of good clip on wheel weights and a gallon of lead stick ons.
I can sit and pick the lead and wheel weights I want at the scrap dealer for .30 per pound. About $45 for a bucket full.
I looked at the ad. Looks like pure lead to me. Just don't need it for that price.
Just checked the metal market price. Lead is sitting at .84 per pound.
The picture on the ad looks like it is in bars.
Non-labeled ingots. One looks like it was used as a hammer or anvil.
I sent an email to a guy that sells sinkers on craigslist. asking if he was going to jump on that lead. He's reply was, "Not on your life."
But go to the scrap yard and try to buy it at .84 per pound. Here they will not even sell you a drop. As there getting Over $1.25 per pound for all they can get. And this guy owns 5 giant yards.
He offered me a great price for 10,000 lbs of mine. And did think about it hard. As I could have gotten 4 new Depthfinders, New motor for the other boat. Hbird 360 and a few other toys for both boats. The 40 HP tiller motor would have been the most cash.nonono
