It depends on how big a hook you want to use. Have a old 1/8 I modified years ago when they wouldn't fit. Just got a 1/16 and the #4 would fit but modified it for a #1.
Might have to bend hook just a just a little!! can heat hook up on lead melter(wear gloves and use needle nose pliers)!! Have the poney and horse head molds from do-it!! no problems no modification!!

In the Pony head style yes you can, the red sickle hooks used to have a problem with eyelet to shank length and the mold wouldn't close properly. When I switched to the black chrome sickles didn't have the problem. Now like cray and jackie have said if you want a really bigger hook you'll have to modify. I've used 6, 4 and 2's with no problem.

Now if you get the Horsehead 1/32nd and 1/16th combo mold you WILL have a problem putting a bigger hook as it's double sided - see top mold in pic. You'd have to do some serious cutting on it.

Even when you pour it you can only do one size at a time as the hooks over lapping don't let the mold close tightly.
Thanks for the info guys. I planed on standard size hooks.
One way to modify the mold for the eye of the hook to fit and to fit longer eyes in it, is to drill it out slightly with a larger size drill bit than the eye socket in the mold calls for. Does that make since?
I am about half asleep on pain pills due to getting a tooth yanked out of my head and getting fitted today for a partial that I am not sure if I am making since.
Thanks,
Bobo
