knot question for rig
I am going to tie some double hook rigs with a jig head on the bottom an a hook about 12" up from bottom. Is it alright to use a palomar knot for the hook. I don't want any lead on it just up tight to the leader. Is it OK the run the tag end of this p to a barrel swivel.

Palomar would work fine, start from the point side of the hook, not the back. Welcome from Middle Tennessee.

Yep Palomar knot works fine.

You can even do this to drag the weight on bottom so you know you are all the way down.

But since you are tying two jigs just tie the bottom jig where the weight is in the picture. You can't troll the bottom as easily but you can drop them to the desired depth and troll.

In summer I use that rig all the time as I start using minnows again I tie a hook above the jig. I use a heavy jig as its weight and bait. I tie the hook on with a Palomar knot and just leave a really long tag, then I run that tag line back through the hook eye so that it stands out and then tie on jig. Should work for you as I have used this for years and done well. Actually usually I catch the bigger fish on the jig, but believe the minnow and smaller fish eating that minnow actually starts other to feed. Just my 2 cents!
