Help for rookie dreamer, which lake for my boat??

I have been hooked on for crappie fishing for less than a year and already dreaming about crappie fishing the great state of Mississippi. More than likely a dream for next year but I just looked on line for cabin rentals at John Kyle and Hugh White and they had a few for my spring week of vacation, does that seem right?? Have the week of March 29th off, would have thought everything would be booked for spring 2015?? Anyway thought maybe better find out which lake for my given boat first. I have a G3 16' x 68'' aluminum with 25hp tiler and a 12v 54lb trolling motor. I guess of the big 3 lakes which would be best for me?? Are the state run cabins on the lakes the best way to go for out of towner staying a few days?? Thanks

For Grenada they are good but like Hambones better. Boat is fine for spring fishing just pat attention to the wind forecast and use the appropriate ramp for that wind.

What Ree's said. But I would sure call and get a reservation now. You wait and they will get filled up. You could stay at Kyle and be close enough to fish any of the three down that way.

Lots of places your boat will be fine at all of the Big 4 lakes, but like John said, watch the wind and its direction and fish accordingly. Open water on a windy day can be dangerous on all 4 lakes in any size boat depending on the wind speed and its direction in relation to the area you plan on fishing.

Any East to Southeast wind over 10 mph and it's going to be bumpy.

Would Arkabutla be the 4th? Looks like it has no state run cabins, right? Guessing most windy days would be some type of south wind, do most of the lakes have ramp/ramps on south end lake?

Yes

South winds can be bad on these lakes but I dont consider them to be the bad sort of winds compared to a different direction.
On Sardis a WSW wind is bad and an ENE is worse, on Enid dew East or dew West is bad.
On Grenada a West wind tends to be the worse, kinda splits the river bottoms and goes up both sides making it a real pain to fish, North wind is bad as well coming out of the main Grenada Landing will be ruff for sure.
On Grenada if I can help in any way just hollar, some of these other guys fish the other 2 a lot more than I do so they should be able to help you with them.
