Plum Bayou has an AG&F ramp Clear lake has a private pay ramp. You won't have any problems at either ramp.
I've fished Plum bayou a few times. It is shallow with lots of trees. I haven't fished clear but it's an old oxbow.
Both lakes are covered up with duck hunter right now so be careful to after season over
I used to live in england for 4 years. Caught alot of crappie out of clear lake spider rigging. Most wete small. Like unkeepable small. I dont think I ever caught a fish that was 1.5lbs. But have had a many of people say that they have caught some big ones from there. I just havent seen it. If u had a graph is always better, but for clear lake there is no definative bottom contours really. Max depth is 8-9 feet. As far as plum bayou. That has some real pretty crappie and some nice ones as well. Also has definative channel (bottom contour). Which is good in hot summer and winter. I would figure out plum bayou if it were me. For one its a free ramp, and 2 there is nice crappie in there once ya figure out how ta get em.
Clear lake has some big ones in there, when you put in at the pay ramp, you can start off going right BUT you have to find the brush under the water first, i would say about 7 yards away from the bank, you can also go left and tight line next to the structure you see. You will haveto find the right depth, my grandfather use to fish there all the time and catch hundreds of eating and huge crappie, you really just have to fish buti hope my info helps
again, thanks for the info. am retired now, so try to fish 3/4 days per week and will get on both lakes when the gun boys leave. reports, good or bad, will be given.
just checked and looks like duck season runs thru jan. 25, so will try to hit one of the lakes on the 26th.
