Will the sun shine again?
Was sitting around the house this morning about 8 AM with plenty I needed to do, but nothing I wanted to do, when I thought of an interesting challenge - why not go to Jack Millers and see if I can put a sacalait in the boat despite the high muddy water. Got on the water about 930. I ran to the canals near lake Sullivan. Found some really nice looking water, murky but not muddy. Fished a jig from 4-8 ft of water in some of the prettiest tops I've ever had the pleasure of fishing....not a bite. I finally just tied up to the best looking tree an let some shiners soak...after 20 minutes I caught a catfish. Went exploring and surprisingly found pretty water in several canals, but no fish biting....to quote a book I recently read, "I was skunked, pole catted, and deprived of anything even remotely resembling" a sacalait.
It got colder and colder today while I was on the water and I just can't wait for the sun to come out tomorrow...still enjoyed the heck out of being out there. As long as I can remember to enjoy the beauty and serendipity of nature, catching fish is just icing on the cake...
