Christmas trees
I'm sure this has been discussed and I've heard different opinions but do crappie get in submerged Christmas trees? I have access to as many as I won't free of charge. Thinking about sinking some, be a cheap habitat as I won't have to invest much money but is it worth the time and effort? I've also made some bamboo buckets ready to sink. These will be for pickwick and bay springs

Fish will move into the new habitat almost as soon as it hits the water. Only thing bad with Christmas trees is the hang up factor when fishing them.

I think they do. I have always let mine dry out and shake off as many needles as possible before sinking.

The corp uses tons of em for habitat. They will work great.

I was once told that Christmas trees collect more silt than other types of brush and are only good for about a year, after that they are about impossible to find on sonar. Anybody else ever hear this?
