Im no winter time expert, but I caught 40 crappie 2 days ago, from the bank in 6 foot of water, and the fish were maybe 2 feet deep down. If jig went deeper than that, would not get a bite. If kept around the 2 foot range, game on and FAST! Just telling ya what I had experienced, so maybe you know of an area with similar conditions, and try that. Never know until u try. Good luck, and welcome from Dewitt Arkansas!

Spring time is the best time and fall the second best but crappie can be caught year round. If you are coming for a visit your best bet would be to hire a guide for a day. There are several good places to crappie fish within 30 to 40 drive from Cabot. Hope this helps.

There a lot of good lakes near by but your best bet would be to hire a guide for a day.

Really Crappie can be caught year round if you can locate them. They can be hard to figure out at times and then they may seem too easy to catch others. Believe it or not spring is my least favorite time to Crappie fish. Spring time can be awsome but weather and water levels can throw lots of curves in the spring.:twocents Not to mention some crowds on the water most nice spring days.

Thanks for help guys. Oh no not visiting I am going to be a residence in Cabot. And I would pay money for a guider but I can't afford it. That's why I am gathering everything from here and go out and enjoy my day there. I and currently unemployed at the moment. What are the names of some lakes or river I can fish from the bank? Once again thanks a lot

They used to say there was a dock on Lake Conway that a fellow could catch a few off of. I am not sure where that dock is though. Maybe D10 will chime in here.

thats the dock at pierce creek public acess of Hwy 89 just past game and fish headquarters

Bridge at 89 might be worth checking out. Most agfc lakes have public docks.
