Transducer cable repair
I have a humminbird 598cisi and a mouse/rat chewed the transducer cable in two about five foot from the transducer itself. It was mounted to a trolling motor laying in my jon boat. Can this cable be repaired/spliced and work as well as it did? Thanks Junior

I would say it could be soldered, insulated, and then covered with a direct burial heat shrink tubing and it should be good to go.

If you do it, be very careful and make sure you connect any foil shielding also. It all depends on your skill level doing this kind of repair.
You could damage the unit if you cause a short.

There is this option for above the water repair ...

Is there a place known for doing this kind of repair? One that could do it professionally? Thanks Junior

I got curious and poked around on the web about splicing transducer cables. This link gives instructions on how to do it from Lowrance. I know you have a Hummingbird. I ran into the link on a page how to repair a Hummingbird cable. They should be similar.
