Jigging spoons , they either attack them or ignore them, trolling spoons now and early spring. I only try it them if nothing else works . Jigging spoons through the ice Like crank baits don't be afraid to try the larger ones. I haven't had a lot of success with them but they can save your day.
I guess you said spinners lol I was thinking spoons ? Beetle spins and road runners , Panther martins, yeah tried them all, like any bait the fish are just there so we buy more tackle. Personally I prefer the roadrunner style spinners, but use the ones with the willow leaf blades they rotate better at slow speeds and thus give off more vibration and flash
I think he is talking about something more along the lines of a Rooster Tail type bait.
I've never tried them for Crappie but I've caught just about everything else with them, dont know why they wouldnt work for Crappie.
Attachment 183705These are the ones I pour and use year round unless we are pulling cranks.
I would say typically you wouldn't want to use them in the winter months--they like it VERY SLOW.
I like the willow leaf best
Who has the best deal on those style ? I want only ones with the willow leaf hard find up here.
