I have never wet a hook on Guntersville. I'm taking two days off this week and headed to try the bridges in the morning. It's about 90 minute drive for me so i plan to get there at or after daylight because other than google earth and having driven through there i am not sure where to go. I keep hearing "the bridge on 79". Not sure which one. Unless i get some feedback tonight i will just drive in on 431 pick a lauch and go to the nearest bridge. ive got minnows and jigs.
Most all the bridges have crappie passin thru or holdin to them during this time of year .some may be better than others the bride on 79 that most talk is about is the one out from Goosepond marina very easy to access from their but go early cause u want be their alone unless the fish are slow.you just have to figure out what depth the fish are at when u get their .Quote:

the bridge on 79 at north sauty is the bomb. get there around 3-4 am for the best choice of spots. I like the second piling from the bank on the gville end of the bridge. set up 10-20 ft downstream and fish along the wall and all the way back to the boat. large crappie seem to gather in the eddie that the wall creates. don't ignore the backside of the wall. 7-10 ft I a good start for depth.
Riverboss's instructions get my vote! The N Sauty bridge is a great one and easy to get to and safe places to park.

thx for the help. we went to goose pond. the bridge was pretty productive for those around us. i was a first timer and had all 10' plus rods. did catch 6 black crappie and dozens of stripe and skipjack. next time i will be better equipt. the guys on the bank were catching shad in a throw net and killing the crappie one them.
I use lil 5 foot rods under the bridge, long line on the edges, creek channel, just depends on the crowd. No doubt it's hard to compete with live shad.
Yep 5-6' rods are the way to to under the bridge. If you have a short dock shooting rod, that would work as well.
