Tightlining small pieces of shrimp around deeper dead falls etc.
That a white perch at the top?? Sure looks like one. Nice catch, I keep looking at Kayaks thinking I'd like one.
Yes its a white perch. Nc has an award citation program for trophy fish and the white perch citation size is one pound. I just missed it with that fish. The biggest bluegill was just over 10 inches.
Just curious about the perch. They are not indigenous to reservoirs but do occur naturally in brackish waters. We got a zillion of them in our reservoirs because somebody thought it would be cool to stock them. There is no limit on them here. Personally I think they taste as good as any other panfish.
Is the Pamplico a free flowing river to the sea or did someone put them there??
Nice!
I wouldn't be this open on my local nc forum lol but the fish were caught in blounts creek on this map. The fish can swim to and from the ocean as they please. You can catch speckled trout, redfish and flounder in this creek as well although if it were me I would move a bit closer to the coast for those species.
Nice fish - is the rod one of the new Shakespere micro lite rods? If so how do you like them?
Yeah its a Shakespeare micro lite. I like it fine. I think it 16 dollars at wally. The real diamond here is the phlueger trion 20. Love those reels!! Buttery smooth and reliable for 30 bucks. I have 2 with a 3rd on the way.
