A neat idea!
I found this on the internet and thought it was such a great idea, I'd share it with you guys. I'm making me some this weekend. I HATE stopping for ice and then the mess it makes.

You could make them any size you want such as using 1" pipe and caps, etc. And make them as short as you want, like big ice cubes? Interesting!

Great idea! I have a built in cooler on my boat and use 20 ounce frozen water bottles to line the bottom (takes 12) then put in the drinks with ice on top and they stay cold even on hot dog days of summer. Also as mentioned a good reserve source of water if needed. But, with the PVC pipe especially schedule 40 (thicker wall) it would stay frozen longer than water bottles. With water bottles frozen I can always pull one out of the cooler and put it in the shiner bucket if it's hot weather. ~~<*{{{{<<

In ga we use something similar to this for keeping shinners cool on those hot days

Great idea. Thanks for sharing. I have used milk jugs before, but never thought about PVC tubes. The milk jugs work fine, but will eventually crack. I can see where schedule 40 PVC would last for a very long time; maybe till Jesus returns.

Gee whizz, I just bought a new freezer 3 days ago and there is plenty room for all kinds of stuff.
