How About Some Finn Raccoon Guys?

Had this hair for over a year and just now tied the first jig with it and thought I would share it. This stuff comes as a Zonker, but I cut a little off to do this as it's very long hair, like 3 1/2" long! Also tied it on a head I have had probably 4 years or more and just getting around to trying it. I wouldn't mind having some of these heads, but maybe in a 1/32 or something close as this is 1/16 Oz I think. However I would not want barrel swivels and would prefer Roller or Crane type.

skip that is a beautiful runner I do have some of those heads in 1/32oz. with red sickle hooks. the problem is that I forgot who I got them from I should order a couple of thousand . do you remember where you got those heads?

Very nice - How do you like the finn racoon compared to artic fox??

It's nice Fatman, but not sure I would say it's better than Arctic Fox. AF is for sure more close to marabou than this stuff is. This has a little more stiffness than does the AF. I do like it though and probably because it's kind of an in-beween stuff where it's no where near as stiff as deer or kip tail is, but not as sonf as Arctic Fox. Hope that helps more than confuses!

I like that hair. I wonder if the stiffness would help it make a bigger profile in the water. The softer materials collapse in the water and change to the smaller profile. I have had times when bigger baits do well! Kind of looks like straight kip tail. What makes it a Finn Raccoon? Nice job Skip!!

Very nice looking tie Skip! You have a knack for making a jig out shine all others! I really like that color combo. Just wish the fish on my home lake would hit that color more often.

It has several names if you look it up, but mostly called Russian Raccoon or Chineese Raccoon. The U.S. Federal Trade Commission calls it Asiatic Raccoon and in northers Europe as Finn Raccoon and that is the name Hareline uses on their packs.
