I just ordered a Terrova with us2 and ipilot! My question is can I use my 587c di with it? I know the down imaging won't work but will I still have traditional sonar?

Seems like I read somewhere the 2D part will work. Hopefully someone can verify that.
I don't know why it would not work. If you put a 2d transducer on my HDS 7 it reads 2D (only) just fine. I have a Terrova with the Universal sonar, but I have a HB standard color 2D on it. Far as I know if I hooked up the HDS7 it would read 2D fine.
I hope you guys are right. All I have been able to find is that down imaging won't work. Hopefully someone will chime in here that has done it on a 500 series Humminbird.
I used it with a 535 HB, just plain back and white before I replaced with the color one. Works fine with either of those. You know you have to buy the HB adaptor cable to connect the DF to the IPilot US2. The US2 is designed to work with most any brand of DF but you have to get the correct adaptor to hook it up.
This is the chart for the cable you probably need.

This came from the MinnKota website. If your unit is listed, I think you could assume it will work on the US2. You can always call HB customer service and they can tell you for sure.
The Universal Sonar is 83kHz/200kHz ...
The HB DI units are 200kHz/455kHz ...
Also there is no option to turn off the DI transmitters in the smaller DI units ...
Will the 2D sonar on my 597ci hd di work with the US2 ducer on my terrova?

Thank you, that answers my question. I was hopping it would work for just the 200 kHz but guess not. I'll just have to run the di transducer and hope the wires don't get wrapped around the head with the ipilot.
I run my HDS7 on the US2 and it works fine. I read a report somewhere and several people like the US2 better than the xducer that comes with the HDS.Quote:

Read the post's in here then look it up on YouTube. Good info on how to install ducer and not have cable wrapping around motor.
