Took off today, and finished my honeydos in time to slip out for a couple of hours this evening. Fished out of jack millers. It wasn't fast and furious, but I caught all but one on a stretch of bank about 100 yards long that I passed twice. Guess I should have stuck around there a little longer. Oh well the weather was superb and the catch fed the family:biggrin

Thanks Vet and PS. By the way, thanks also goes out to jig rig for this one. Last time i went out I dropped nearly every good fish I hooked. So I looked at jig rig's post "i should be good" and ordered those same hooks from Grandpa Bob's. I did not miss a single fish I hooked yesterday. I really like those sickle hooks, they seem to really get the job done, and boy are they SHARP...

A little mess is better than the no mess I have, of course I didn't go fishing but glad you did. You're right about those sickle hooks, they are super sharp and I also don't miss many fish since using them. I think the fish hook themselves once they inhale the jig, even though they try to spit it out. Thanks for the report.

Can't complain if you got enough to feed the family! That's a good enough catch for any trip. Glad you had fun!

I don't know much about the other side of the levee, so that's on you, I saw the river just dropped several feet last week. I caught those 4 slabs (all 4 where 12"+) where I met you right in front of that camp tight on wood a couple feet deep. I think if I had given that small little area more time I may have caught a dozen real nice ones. I just passed through then stopped by again on my way out....I will be spending time with family and friends on campus this weekend, but best of luck to y'all wherever you decide to go! Keep us posted.....
