I spent the last 8 days in South Dakota shooting road chickens. Today was first day back on water and when I turned the key on the Ranger, the cranking battery didn't fire. Countrytime was there and offered his time and cranking battery so I could get my customers on their trip. Great guy, Great friend, Great fisherman!!! Thanks Bro!!
Your welcome Bigfisheads, know you would have done the same! We all dread the horrible click click click noise when the key is turned.

That was Earls boat, not mine. But come to think of it, he said it was the first time it ever happened on his Ranger. Maybe it is me....
Well one thing I did not know was Bigfishheads showed me how to rev up the motor with out putting the motor in gear. He said the big round button on the side of the throttle that I never associated as a button but a cover will cause the gear to disengage so you can rev the engine and take your hands off the throttle. Learn something new every day.
Am I the only one who didn't know this or is it common knowledge?
PS We have all had one of those days from time to time when nothing goes right. It is like a black cloud is meant to follow you that particular day when it is your day. You want to stand up in the boat and shout out loud get thee behind me Satan! I'm probably not too far from the truth if the truth be known. lol
Yep....Drive Shift over ride...Use mine on the 115 yammy 2 stroke all the time after It's been sittin cold in the water while fishing....Your Yammy 4 stroke may have a rev limiter on it... I know that my little 9.9 4 stroker on the duck boat does...I know it's there so you wont blow it apart, but waiting for the thing to get warm enough to motor through the duck woods when its 28 degrees is a pain!!! cold natured little booger!
I think your just bad luck with batteries Doug. Last time I was at talquin my cranking battery died. You cursed it! Hahaha! If it hadn't been for that jump start switch on my Ranger that jumps it off of the trolling batteries I'd been stranded. Battery hasn't died since then.
