Need some help please
I'm a rookie crappie fisherman , i put in at chester frost park for the first time today I fished some rock bluffs an some docks in 15 ft water. With bobby garlands. An no luck as normal. Just dont know what im doing wrong. Im off work this week an wanted to catch a few but its not happening. Any tips or help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Not knowing how or what you were doing, I will tell you that most newbies frequently move the bait too much and too fast. When I first started the technique was referred to as the "Pitch and Glide". Pitch the bait at your target close the bail and hold the rod tip a little high so you can watch the line. When the bait hits bottom the line will fall to the surface. count as it falls til it hits bottom. Next cast start reeling ultra slow 2 counts off the bottom, then 3 and so on til you find the depth the fish are active at, then repeat. If the line does ANYTHING that you didn't tell it to, set the hook with a snap of the wrist. Look fora twitch or vibration, sideways movement, the line falling to the water when you know it isn't on the bottom(liftbite), or the almighty telltale thump that we all live for. Its minnow season. IMO. cooler water. Hungry fish. Don't be afraid of shallower water and submerged structure. Skeet said it best. Don't be in a hurry. This aint marlin fishing. Finesse
is best.
