Bayou Corne 10-11-14
Took a friend to Bayou Corne Saturday as we both haven't been there in a long, long time and nobody here was posting anything. Fished til about noon. Sorry there's no pics, but there's no fish!
The water was great in most places and the weather was awesome and we threw jigs, soft plastics, crank baits, top water hard lures, spinner baits and frogs in a variety of colors. Managed one small google eye on a red/white jig and missed a really good fish but never saw it so it might have been a garfish for all I know. But he had the drag singing for while.
We had beau coup bites or should I say nibbles. They tapped and even pushed the jigs around but never really bit. The top water lures were popular too but all I could get were tail slaps. Nothing on the soft plastics, frogs or spinner baits. Nada.
Talked to 4 other boats and their stories were the same. Seems like everybody wanted to blame the front that was coming but I'm not so sure. Can't figure it out though. Everything seemed perfect except the moon.
Still a fun day and much better than being at work.

What a beautiful area...too bad about the bite being so terrible...

Its all good GF. You're right. Can't be a bad day as pretty as that place is.
It breaks my heart to see some of those beautiful homes empty and the grass taking over the place. I'd buy one in a heartbeat if I could get insurance coverage. Can you imagine waking up to that every morning. I'd be a callin' in sick fool! LOL

Yeah it's a real shame all that is happening down there...

Thanks for the report Paul. I don't believe it's the cold front, if anything the coming front should have the fish biting better than ever. I wish Wildlife and Fisheries would do one of their fish surveys (shocking) to see what really has happened. Are the fish there or are they no where to be found. I had high hopes of fishing that area after being introduced to it by BayouBoy a few years ago, but now it just seems like it would be a waste of gas.
