Wateree 10-10
Went to Wateree yesterday afternoon to fish off Colonels Creek bridge for a little bit since my pops was busy working on his truck for his beach trip and to operate boat properly i need a crew. Stopped at the Flying Dutchman for Scooper's secret bait (peanuts), cheap soda and doz. minners. Started at 330 and planned on fishing into the evening. Started off slow with a few bumps on my worm baited hi lo rig (feeding perch and slimers), then started to pick up some crappies which were nicer size and quality than the Cane Creek crappie my Pops and I caught last Sat. These crappies can almost yank a rod over side of the bridge. Gave them to the people next to me (Today's Church fish fry thanks to me). Had a construction worker come by and observe me during his break. Showed him how I fished and gave him some hooks and split shot i was using so he can take his little girl fishing Sunday. Bite surprisingly died out into the evening around 6. Thankfully I didn't land any slimers but the ones my pops and I landed at CC strangely tasted better than the crappies we caught. I did hook into a couple big jail suited fish. One got a hold of a little bream that hitched hiked a ride from home with me..hook popped out, other one broke my off against the piling. Gonna bring the boat and fixed fishfinder next time.
