I’m looking for advice for a micro sd card for a Lowrance Elite-5 HDI. Anyone used one for storing info / images? I am looking at a 4 gb class 4 card … Any insight would be helpful.

Sounds like the one I used when I had an Elite 5
Several good micro-sd cards out there ... with SanDisk & Kingston being the easiest to find.
Now ... the micro-sd card is all you need for the HDI unit, and according to my quick research, a 32gb card is the max size you can use. There were some issues about the unit warning of the card running out of space (when it wasn't close to doing so), but recent updates may have fixed that problem :dono
Your 4gb card should give you more than enough space for your recordings.
If you have a card reader in your computer, all you'd need besides the 4gb micro-sd card is the adapter card.
If you don't have a card reader ... you can always purchase a "kit" that has all three components ... something like this : Kingston 4GB Mobility Kit microSD (microSDHC) Card Class 4 Flash Memory Card | Staples®
I have the Elite 5DSI unit ... and it only handles a 2gb micro-sd card. I don't have a card reader in my computer, so I went here -- SD Cards and Memory Sticks - Computer and Laptop Memory - OEMPCWorld.com -- and found a 2gb micro card/adapter/USB flashdrive reader kit for around $8.00
I don't see the kits on there, anymore, but they do have the USB Flashdrive reader by itself, for around $5.00 ( Compact SD Secure Digital type external flash memory card reader USB 2.0 (BZH) )

Thanks for the info, I will use with a card reader ...
stay with the good brand cards like SanDisk & Kingston, some of cheapo's can develop problems of not wanting to record etc and u don't want to lose saved locations or pictures. I know several who used cheapos and after a couple of uses card would no longer accept recording or waypoints without being reformatted. Pain in rear in my book.
Wal-Mart has some 16Gb Micro SD cards for $12. Sandisk. You still need to get a card reader to get the images on your computer.
